Situated among the old trees, the open-air museum of the Farm of Rural Village in Pszczyna is a picturesque reconstruction of the settlement, an image of everyday life of residents among traditional rural buildings.
All the objects of wooden architecture have been faithfully transferred from the surrounding villages. Granary (1784) from Rudoltowice-Debiny village. Hut (1831) from Grzawa. XVIII-century 8-side barn of Kryr. Masztalnia (1799) from the Great Vistula. Biedniacka barn from Kobielice. The XIXth century forge from Goczalkowice. One carriage house from the first half of the XX century from Copper, the second from the II half of the XIX century from Warszowice. XVIII-century manor granary from Czechowice. Wind mill from Zebrzydowice. Gate shed (1974) from Golasowice. Neo-gothic chapel from Poreba. XIX-century water mill from Bojszow. Apiary comes from the Pszczyna region (I half of XX century).
In the warm season, when you visit all the interiors, sit on the bench and let yourself be hypnotized by the mill wheel that slowly pours water. A wonderful moment.
In addition to the nostalgic note, the open-air museum offers a rich program of educational and artistic workshops. “Secrets of Bees”, “Secrets of Herbs” are examples of topics that are close to nature and close to every heart.
However, these are not all the attractions. The calendar is complemented by folklore events, celebration of the beginning of spring, Herb Festival, Bee Festival, and European Heritage Day.
The Farm of Rural Village in Pszczyna is included in the Wooden Architecture Trail of Upper Silesia.
